- Phimosis is frequently seen in children, adolescents and older men .
- It can cause pain, balanoposthitis and thin stream of urine that can be hard to control .
- Phimosis is often not necessary to treat in infants .
- Especially in older children and young people one can try treatment with corticosteroid ointment .
- The treatment often is surgery, usually in the form of circumcision.
